Zijn affiniteit voor het vertellen van verhalen komt tot uiting in zijn eclectische repertoire, waarin hij een speciale plek heeft voor de vertellende Evangelistenrollen in de passies van Bach. Hij was in de voorbije jaren als solist te horen in verschillende concertante werken van o.a. Mozart, Telemann, Schumann, Rossini, Händel, Monteverdi en Bach en zijn interpretaties van de Evangelisten in Bach's Johannes- en Matthäuspassie, evenals in diens Weihnachtsoratorium, hebben hem in België, Nederland en Frankrijk reeds lovende kritieken opgeleverd. Naast zijn concertante solowerk heeft Leander ook een breed scala aan rollen vertolkt in opera- en operetteproducties, o.a. Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Il Contino Belfiore (La finta giardiniera), Sellem (The rake's progress), Testo (Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda), Le Pêcheur (Le Rossignol) en Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus). Leander wordt regelmatig uitgenodigd door internationale ensembles zoals Vox Luminis, Vlaams Radiokoor, Ex Tempore, Choeur de Chambre de Namur en BachPlus voor concerten in heel Europa. Leander heeft zijn muzikale opleiding genoten aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Gent, waar hij les kreeg van bas-bariton Marcos Pujol, Mireille Capelle en Getácine Pegorim. Momenteel wordt hij gecoacht door tenoren Ludwig Van Gijsegem en sopraan Diane Verdoodt. In 2022 maakte hij deel uit van de kinderopera De Gruffalo (Ivan Fischer) voor een tour in België en Nederland. Sinds 2024 vormt hij een liedduo met pianist Matthias De Smet, hun eerste recital Cityscapes werd zowel in België als in Nederland met lof onthaald..
